Agates are all grounding stones, and bring physical, emotional and intellectual balance. They balance positive and negative, yin and yang. They are slow working stones of great strength, but also very soothing and calming. They help with self acceptance, building self confidence and aiding with honest self analysis. They encourage speaking one’s own truth. Agates enhance concentration, and perception, leading to finding practical solutions. They are useful in healing any kind of emotional trauma, overcoming bitterness of the heart and anger. They also foster spiritual growth and inner stability.

Most Wiccans believe in a single ultimate reality that pervades the universe and is expressed in the Goddess and God. Most traditions worship the two deities as equals where none deserves more importance than the other. An attempt is usually made to reflect this balance in the coven, although men tend to be a minority in the Wiccan religion. One notable exception is Dianic Wicca, which worships the Goddess exclusively and only women are admitted to the covens.

What is Wicca?
Wicca, sometimes called "The Craft" or "The Craft of the Wise" is one of many earth-based religions. The religion which is closest to Wicca in America is probably Native American spirituality. Traditional Wicca was founded by Gerald Gardner, a British civil servant, who wrote a series of books on the religion in the 1940's. It contains references to Celtic deities, symbols, seasonal days of celebration, etc. Added to this were components of ceremonial magic and practices of the Masonic Order. A more recent form is eclectic Wicca which involves a combination of Wiccan beliefs and practices, combined with other Pagan and non-Pagan elements. The various traditions of Wicca are part of the Pagan or Neopagan group of earth-based religions.

There are many symbols associated with Wicca and modern neopagan belief systems. Some of the most universal Neopagan symbols include:
The pentacle, a pentagram within a circle, is the most recognizable symbol of Wicca. The pentacle represents the integration of body and spirit, and the spiritual mastery of the four elements. The pentacle is used in a number of Wiccan rituals, and as a Grade sign in Gardnerian and other traditions. The pentacle is often worn as a symbol of recognition amongst practitioners, especially those who practice a code of secrecy. (More pentacle history)
